I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been working in the mental health field since 2005. During this time, I have gained experience with children (age 5 and up), adolescents, and adults in outpatient, inpatient and IOP/OP settings, providing individual and family therapy to address concerns such as depression, anxiety, AD/HD, trauma, peer relationships, parent-child conflict, school and work issues and stage of life related issues. I also am a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor and have experience helping teens and adults cope with problematic substance use and other addictive behaviors. I especially enjoy working with youth and adults in the LGBTQIA+ community and embrace working with and affirming individuals of all genders and sexualities, including those who are exploring their identities.

My work is person-centered: I believe that therapy is a collaborative effort and I work to create an inviting environment where change can occur. I draw from a variety of evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and also incorporate play therapy, family therapy and mindfulness-based strategies into my practice, when appropriate. I am also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy (EMDR).

I graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2009 with my MA in Mental Health Counseling, concentration in Substance Dependence Counseling. Additionally, I hold a Approved Clinical Supervisor certification and am able to provide clinical supervision to individuals pursuing their LPC and/or CADC/LCADC. I am currently working as an adjunct professor at Montclair State University. I mainly teach internship classes and sincerely enjoy watching students grow into their clinical counseling skills.

I am a member of the following professional organizations:

  • American Counseling Association
  • National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors
  • New Jersey Addiction Professionals Association
