What does my insurance cover?

Not sure what your insurance covers? We’re happy to check for you!

Call or text (973) 891-0793 or reach out through our contact form to get started. We’ll help you understand your out-of-network benefits so you can move forward with clarity and confidence. No obligation, just helpful information.

Do you accept insurance or offer private pay therapy in NJ?

We are a private pay therapy practice in NJ and are out-of-network with all insurance plans. Many of our clients receive reimbursement for a portion of their sessions through out-of-network benefits.

As a courtesy, we can even verify your benefits for you before you begin.

Can you call my insurance plan to find out if I have out-of-network benefits?

Yes! As a courtesy, we’re happy to do this for you.

Understanding insurance benefits can feel overwhelming, and we aim to make the process as simple and stress-free as possible. With your permission, our billing coordinator can contact your insurance company to verify your out-of-network mental health benefits and explain your coverage in clear, straightforward terms.

To get started, we would need:

  • A copy of the front and back of your insurance card
  • The client’s full name and date of birth
  • The primary policy holder’s name and date of birth (if different)

We will then review details such as:

  • Whether you have out-of-network benefits
  • Your deductible and whether it has been met
  • Your reimbursement rate per session
  • Any session limits or authorization requirements
  • How to submit claims and where to send them

There is no obligation, just helpful information so you can make an informed decision. Our goal is to give you a clear understanding of your benefits so you can move forward with confidence.

What are the fees for neuropsychological and autism evaluations?

Fees depend on the type of referral questions for which the neuropsychological or autism evaluation is being sought as it will determine which assessment instruments will be utilized and the approximate amount of time and number of testing sessions needed. In addition to the testing sessions (typically 3-4 sessions lasting about 2-3 hours each), all neuropsychological evaluations also include a clinical intake before testing begins and a feedback session once all the testing is completed, data is compiled and interpreted, the report is written. Please call or email us for more information.

What are the fees for additional services?

Fees for additional services are prorated in 15-minute increments according to the main service type utilized, which will vary depending on the services sought. Additional services include clinical face-to-face time, report writing, telephone consultations with other mental health providers and other professionals, teachers, etc, preparation of records or treatment summaries and time spent performing any other service.

Please note that some additional services, depending on the service type, are typically not reimbursable by insurance.

When is payment due?

All payment is due at the time of service. Payment for neuropsychological evaluation services can be made in full at the first or broken up into a few payments spanning over the duration of the evaluation, typically spanning several weeks.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Credit cards are the most commonly accepted form of payment. HSA credit card, debit card, cash and check are also accepted. Checks may be written out to Evolve Psychological Services.

How often do fees increase?

If you need to cancel a therapy appointment, please inform your therapist at least 24 hours before your scheduled meeting time. Unless a session is canceled 24 hours in advance, you will be responsible for the full fee of the session.

What is your cancellation policy regarding illness?

For your safety and the safety of the team at Evolve Psychological Services, you are asked to communicate with your therapist to decide if your appointment will be conducted virtually (if your appointment is routinely held in person), rescheduled or canceled if you or a member of your household is diagnosed with a communicable disease (e.g., strep throat, flu, Covid-19) or if you have a cough or fever.
